I’ve been a lawyer since 2004, when I graduated from the T.C. Williams School of Law at the University of Richmond. I spent the early part of my career practicing criminal law, including service as a Senior Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney in Virginia Beach. After leaving prosecution, I worked for a well-known local law firm, Shutleworth, Ruloff, Swain, Haddad & Morecock.

In May of 2017 I returned as a partner in that firm. I handle personal injury law cases, including car accidents, trucking accidents, dog bites, slip and fall cases and medical malpractice.

I enjoy helping people in their time of need. You can’t alter what happened to cause an injury, but you can improve your client’s life by obtaining the maximum settlement or verdict possible. It is a good feeling to help real people work their way through a system that can be overwhelming to someone who is - understandably - not familiar with this process.
